This new unit not only eliminates the thrust from the camshaft, but also keeps constant tension on the timing chain. Mopar Small blocks have a much larger distance between the camshaft & crankshaft compared to other V8 engines. This enables the timing chain to eventually cause slack and "Whip Effect" which enables the cam & ignition timing to alter.
