A rarity that came from the region of Ro Cunucunuma in vicinity of Cerro Duida in the state of Amazonas in the Gran Sabana of Venezuela. Native to moist ground and damp rock walls, it is one of the very few Navias to come into cultivation. A rosette of narrow, deep green, fairly soft leaves with spiny margins, the center flushes pure white at anthesis, suggesting its name; lactea (milky).
